Yay for summer!
Some fun things about summer that are awesome.
1. Swimming!
2. Swimming with friends.
3. Swimming in lakes.
4. Swimming in pools.
5. Swimming in puddles if necesarry.
BESIDES swimming,
You can SKI!
Water skiing is one of the best water sports -in my opinion of course- that one can do in summer.
Now, I must quit writing too go finish watching an episode of Castle. Darn it for being a good show!
My brain + My life + Time - Normality = This blog. Enough said.

The Test of Doom
A
C
T
What is it about these three letters that send seniors -and soon to be seniors- over the edge? The ACT is the one test that you will take in high school that determines most of the next four years of your life. It determines whether you will attend that dream college of yours with a full ride scholarship, or be stuck paying your way through community college. On Saturday, June 12, 2010, I will walk into a classroom with many other teens –remembering to follow the many rules; some of these rules being as follows.
The following actions will cause you to be dismissed and your test marked as invalid:
Filling in or altering ovals on a test or continuing to write the essay after time has been called on that test, Looking back at a test on which time has already been called, Looking ahead in the test booklet, Looking at another examinee's test booklet or answer document, Giving or receiving assistance, Using a prohibited calculator, Using a calculator on any test other than the Mathematics Test, Sharing a calculator with another examinee, Using any device to share or exchange information at any time during the tests or during breaks (all electronic devices, including cell phones, must be turned off from the time you are admitted to test until you are dismissed after testing concludes)Attempting to remove test materials, including test questions or answers, from the test room by any means Using highlight pens, colored pens or pencils, scratch paper, notes, dictionaries, or other aids Not following instructions or abiding by the rules of the test center Exhibiting confrontational, threatening, or unruly behavior, rare, acting a disturbance or allowing an alarm or phone to sound in the test room...
Um…..yeah. Rules. Moving on…
-sit down at a desk, and begin. Hopefully I won’t panic and die, because that would defeat the purpose of the test. Luckily, the number of ACT related deaths is small. I would give a statistic, but I really don’t care enough to check if anyone has died while taking the ACT or not.
Good luck to me.
…and everyone else.
=)

Thoughts, observations, and discombobulated reasonings
There is a phrase that I have heard several times.
Basically it states that every time you are in pain, or trouble, there is someone who has it worse. All I can think of is, “How awful would it be if YOU were the person who had it worst of everyone.”
That's just what I thought. If you were expecting more, go read a book.
I recommend "The Final Hour". Good stuff is that book.

Graduation Parties/Why I love them
And so begins the season of the graduation party. I don’t know if I have mentioned this before, but graduation parties are some of my favorite celebrations. I shall give several reasons supporting this theory.
1. There is food. Lots and lots of food, generally of the “junk food” genre.
2. There is no official START and STOP times! This means that people open their food filled houses for a period of time, and you can arrive anytime you want!!
3. Generally said houses are filled with people that you know. If you, in fact, do not know anyone at the party, I suggest you take advantage of the free food.
4. Again, there is food. Also, cake. No celebration is complete without some sort of cake.
5. The Graduate is usually subjugated to having large amounts of baby pictures up on some sort of display. These are EXTREMELY amusing to look at. [NOTE: If you are close friends with the Graduate, they are inevitably included in these pictures, so it is a double sided sword of sorts.]
6. And last, but not least, you get to congratulate said Graduate for making it through High school without dying. Yay!
So, in closing, I congratulate all the High school seniors I know. And I will see you at your graduation parties.
Lizzie.

Ramblings on the BEST MUSICAL EVER. Sorry.
Les Miserables
If one of my friends mentions these words to me, which almost never happens as they know what will happen, I begin to jump up and down and freak out. Yes, I am a LMA or Les Miserables Addict.
Recently, I fed my addiction by going to a Home school high school production of said musical. To say the least, it was spectacular. The main reason that it was so spectacular was this. The entire production was produced, casted, and orchestrated by homeschoolers. In particular, one senior girl, whose senior project it was. Needless to say, (also, if it is needless to say, why am I saying it? How confusing.) this was quite an undertaking.
Les Miserables [Homeschool production] had many props, several of which were rather large, and needed to be assembled onstage. One characteristic of this play, was that the scenes and props changed CONSTANTLY, without a curtain ever closing. I applaud the ‘stage ninjas’, as one of them so memorably put it, for assembling and breaking down all of these sets within seconds. Again, these were mostly high school students who were doing this. So...congrats.
In all, this was a fantastic representation of Les Miserables, and I congratulate all the people who are in it.
Okay, I’ll stop talking now.

Allergies.
Ah, spring. The time where the sleeping world begins to awake and burst into color and life. And with this bursting comes the birth of something else.
ALLERGIES.
Yes, I am a victim of the pain and suffering that comes with spring.
On some days, you just wonder if your eyes can really get any redder and more irritated, and then the next thing you know, they are watering also.
Allergies.
Another side effect of allerigies is the fact that you have to empty your trashcan twice a day because it fills with tissues.
Allergies.
Breathing through your nose becomes less of a necessity, and more of a rare priveledge.
I have no more to say on the subject.

Spring "Break"
Spring Break is nice.
It is pleasant.
It just serves to make us want to kill ourselves more when we return to school.
I believe that this ‘break’ only exists to let the typical student believe that they are free for a time being, until the jaws of the establishment clamp down once more upon them.
It can be likened to a prisoner escaping from jail, only to be hauled back after a week of freedom.
I am currently experiencing this same feeling. It is a Monday. Yes, Monday, April 12, 2010; Also known as the day that my spring break comes to a crashing halt. As I sit at the computer, I can see the free world outside of my house. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and our dog is trying in vain to catch a squirrel.
I would really REALLY appreciate it if summer would arrive NOW.
I have Latin homework to do.
I dislike Latin.
I have no more to rant about at the moment.
Goodbye.

Procrastination Shmastination....
Procrastinate. Procrastination.
[proh-kras-tuh-neyt, pruh-] Show IPA verb,-nat•ed, -nat•ing.
–verb (used without object)
1.
to defer action; delay: to procrastinate until an opportunity is lost.
–verb (used with object)
2.
to put off till another day or time; defer; delay.
In other words, the action that is currently being demonstrated by me, myself and I. Procrastination and I have long been companions. Our relationship originated one day in the first grade. What was the reason for this beginning? I learned how to read. Since then, Procrastination and I have been fast friends, lasting through Grade, Middle, and almost all of High School. For days at a time, I have tried to shun Procrastination, but he follows me throughout my day, beckoning me with the hand of temptation. Holding food, books, and websites in the palm of his hand, just waiting for me to fall and be snared in his trap.
And now, dear reader, he has caught me once again. I have left my essay on the Book of Matthew for too long! I struggle against the temptation to leave this computer chair and escape to the neighboring room, where my family is entertaining themselves with the pleasing pastime of television. No, I shall stay here. I shall write this paper! My resolve strengthens, but then shatters pathetically. I know that even if I defeat my constant nemesis in this round, he will follow me even unto my death. A small light of an idea flickers in the defeated depths of my brain. I was earlier asked to clean the kitchen. If I write my paper now, I will be procrastinating cleaning! My heart lights up with joy, and my nemesis and I are reconciled. Procrastination will work for me today, and no one will be the wiser.

Posts formerly on the page that I lost.
WHAT NOT TO DO DURING A LOCKDOWN.
1:32- Leave house for school.
1:37- Arrive at school, park, notice lack of students skipping school at hill opposite school.
1:40 - Notice strange siren sound emitting from school building.
1:41 - Enter school building. Spot no one because it is empty. Siren continues.
1:45 - Stand in entry of school for 4 minutes wondering if there is a shooter in school, and if so, if I should get out, or go to class.
1:46 - Office Secretary yells at self to "get somewhere now." Wonders if that is all the direction I am going to recieve, attempts to look like I am "going somewhere".
1:46:30 - Self enters main office, gets told that there is a lockdown drill and asked why did I enter the building in the first place? Self answers that this is my first year in a highschool and gets odd look.
1:49 - Self exits the office with the knowledge that if there is a siren going off inside the school, not to go in. Self wonders how this is possible since the siren was only audible from inside the school.
1:50- Bell rings, 13th mod begins. Self goes to class.

Blog blog blog.
Such an unsightly word.
Hello, I am Me. You are you. Introductions have been made.
Due to my mind being unable to keep a firm grasp on numerical sequences, I have lost the password that I used for my old blog. So welcome to my new one.
I am bored.
I am tired.
It is 10:40, and I have to wake up early tomorrow.
Goodnight.
